Bulk postage is not priced by mileage alone.
Unlike zone-based package pricing, letter and flat postage depends more heavily on the way the list sorts and how the mailing is prepared and entered.

What to know about the estimate.
What counts as a letter-size mailpiece?
A typical commercial letter is at least 5 inches long and 3.5 inches high, and no more than 11.5 inches long, 6.125 inches high, or 0.25 inch thick. The aspect ratio and construction also affect machinability. This calculator assumes a rectangular, flexible, machinable piece.
Does a bulk letter have to weigh less than 1 ounce?
No. Current USPS Marketing Mail minimum per-piece pricing applies to qualifying automation or machinable letters weighing up to 3.5 ounces. Heavier or nonmachinable pieces require a different calculation.
How accurate is this bulk mail postage calculator?
It is a planning estimate based on published USPS price ranges. Exact postage requires the final piece, processed mailing list, sort results, entry plan, authorization status, and current USPS rules.
Why can two mailings with the same quantity cost different amounts?
One list may group deeply into carrier routes or ZIP Codes while another remains widely scattered. Automation compatibility, destination entry, nonprofit status, and the piece itself can also change the final per-piece price.
How many pieces do I need for bulk postage?
USPS Marketing Mail generally requires at least 200 pieces or 50 pounds. Commercial First-Class presort requires at least 500 pieces. EDDM uses carrier-route quantities and the applicable BMEU or local DDU entry requirements instead.
